Narbonne, sous-préfecture de l’Aude mais première ville du département par le nombre d’habitants (48 020), est une commune dynamique, entreprenante, d’une superficie de 17 554 Ha.
Elle exploite au mieux son riche patrimoine, tant culturel (label « Ville d’Art »), que géographique avec Narbonne Plage, son port de plaisance (Station Balnéaire lauréate du Pavillon Bleu d’Europe des Ports et des Communes depuis 1988, du Label « Kid » ainsi que du label « Port Propre »), située à 15 Km, séparée de l’agglomération par le site classé du massif de La Clape et La Nautique (hameau en bordure de l’étang Bages/Sigeans, doté également d’un port de plaisance).
Le développement des infrastructures de loisirs (sportifs et culturels), du tourisme fluvial (port Narbonne situé sur le canal de la Robine relié au canal du Midi) et balnéaire en fait une ville très accueillante. Tous ces atouts justifient sa vocation historique de Carrefour de l’Europe du Sud.

Narbonne, sub-prefecture of the Aude but first city of the department by the number of inhabitants (48,020), is a town dynamic and undertaking of a surface of 17,554 Ha.
It exploits as well as possible its rich cultural (label « Town of Art ») and geographical heritage with Narbonne-Plage and its marinas (seaside resort distinguished by the European Blue Flag since 1988 for both its marina and the city and its beaches, Station Kid, and « Port Propre ») located at 15 km from the agglomeration, separated by the classified site of the Massif of La Clape — Pine forest) and La Nautique (hamlet near the pond of Bages/Sigean that has also a marina).
The development of the infrastructures of leisure (sporting and cultural), of river tourism (port Narbonne located on the Canal de La Robine connected to the Canal du Midi) and balneal makes a very accessible city of it. All these assets justify its historical vocation of crossroads of Europe of the South.
